The Convertible Community Team, consisting of Donnie Austin and LaRahna Hughes, is excited to announce the launch of our highly anticipated internship and residency programs, designed for passionate individuals eager to learn how to build intentional communities using the innovative Convertible Community framework. Applications are now open for these unique opportunities, which offer hands-on experience and comprehensive training in value-based sustainable living and community development.
The Social Tech Education for Paradigm Shifters (STEPS) Internship and Residency programs are tailored for those committed to making a significant impact in their communities. LaRahna Hughes, who coined the term "convertible communities" in 2009, emphasizes the importance of adaptability and sustainability in community building. These programs are a direct response to that vision, providing participants with the tools and knowledge needed to lead and innovate in the field of community development.

The Way Station @ The River
The Way Station is a second-floor flat in the Capulispamba bario of Cuenca, Ecuador. This residence offers one private king suite (ensuite full bath) and two semi-private bedrooms (shared bathroom), one offering a King bed and the other offering two full beds. There is also one partially-covered and one fully-covered patio, with access to our healing room, kitchen, and gym facilities. All locations within our facility have access to high-speed internet. The Guest House @ The River
The Guest House is our fourth-floor flat in the Capulispamba bario of Cuenca, Ecuador. This residence offers three private queen suites (full ensuite baths).
